I need a space outside for my toy breed dog to run around and eliminate in. Any ideas?

I need a space outside for my toy breed dog to run around and eliminate in. I can't afford to fence my entire backyard right now so I need a cheap alternative way of doing it until I can. Also I don't want my place to look trashy. Any Ideas? What about Lattice fencing?
