How would a 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle be on gas?

The Beetle is a car more for the enthusiast - it's not exactly thrifty! Keep in mind, please, that the basic layout dates back to the 1930's. If you're looking for a good mileage, you might still like to buy the Beetle, but actually driving it is out of the question - don't expect any better than around 12 to 15 mpg, I'd figure!
